Junior Magazine is a new photographic journal published by Junior Press that provides a platform for emerging talent in Irish documentary photography. We seek to foster a new photographic community and shine a spotlight on outstanding work that is too often overlooked. In showcasing the work of Dublin photographers, the magazine also serves as a de-facto love-letter to the city we call home. This issue features the work of six photographers each of whom provide a totally unique perspective on the world around them.
The theme for our first issue is ‘youth’. We gave our photographers a blank canvas and maximum freedom to tell the stories that they are passionate about. The result is a thought-provoking document that explores questions of home, identity and growing up. Going forward, Junior will be an annual publication. Junior Press will also be releasing limited-run zines and photographic events through out the year between issues.
