Painting in the Park with Paul McKenna

Posted on May 19, 2017

Spend a day plein air painting in Fitzgerald Park, be inspired by the beautiful gardens and views of the River Lee. Led by Artist Paul Mckenna, you will be guided through composition set up, brush techniques, and colour mixing. You will work with Open Golden Acrylic, a slow drying acrylic ideal for Plein-air painting. The workshop is a ideal for those wishing to try something new or develop their skills.

A great way to spend the day relaxing in the park, enjoying the process of plein air painting.

The day begins with a practical introduction to colour mixing, tips for  composition, techniques and various approaches to painting. The group will then part ways to select locations around the park. Paul will check in on your progress throughout the day to offer advice and guidance. Lunch is from 1-2pm, you are welcome to bring a picnic or order from the Natural Foods Bakery, cafe on site. We will finish up the day with a group discussion at 4pm.
